“Him has God Exalted” (An Easter Blog)
The crucified One who hung in ignominious agony on Calvary is now seated at the Father’s right hand. He is been raised to a position of honor, power, and glory that is his by an undisputed right, for by his blood he has paid redemption’s price. Easter signifies the blessed reality of his place as our great Mediator who ever intercedes before the throne of God on our behalf. Let that blessed truth delight your soul and feed your spirit.
Consider further that his exaltation in heaven is the basis of our own future glorification. As one with him, as members of his body, we shall share in his glory. It will be our eternal delight to sit down with him and exercise dominion and share in his inheritance. His church is his bride and he will not reign without her. As he overcame and sat down on his throne so we will overcome through him. The Bible says we shall in some way be “like him, for we shall see him as he is.” (1 John 3.2)
Believers with this heavenly perspective are content to bear earthly burdens for a little while. We can endure hardships knowing that in heaven we have an inheritance that will never fade away. O Believer! Easter proclaims not just the victory of Christ but of all Christians. Though you may feel forgotten, and though life may seem like an uphill climb, remember that “he has made us kings and priests unto God.”
We can endure hardships knowing that in heaven we have an inheritance that will never fade away.
On this Easter Sunday we revel in his victory over the grave and his magnificent triumph over death and hell. But let us not forget the impact of his conquest on own our lives. Because he lives, we shall live also. (John 14.19) Our Lord Jesus now represents us in heaven’s court and will soon come to receive us to himself; and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Indeed, Easter means a great deal to us as God’s children. It means we shall see him and be like him, we shall reign with him, and will behold his glory and share his joy forever!
